just my kids. I was trying to capture the warm glow of late afternoon, I love how it turned out in Rachel, the boys, well, I have to snap when I can. I am sure you can understand.
and just to make sure she got a piece of the action yesterday.
Growing up I didn’t have a lot of family around. I was the oldest cousin by a decade and we were the only family living in the U.S. Now, we are 3 families living in the U.S and all the cousins are so close in age. Yes, my parents are in Florida and my brother is in Pittsburgh and I do wish we were closer but at least we are in the same country. LOL. The kids are 9, 8, 6, 5, and 4. I hope they grow up to be friends and I think they will.
Ben doesn’t really understand my point of view. While he is the youngest cousin by far, 90% of his family is within 1 hour of each other and there are lots of them!! Their holidays were always crowded and loud and full of cousin fun. They even had a cousins club. Now in my opinion this is the way it should be. Why are families so independent from each other, doesn’t it take a village? I feel no shame in saying that I hope my kids and their families all live relatively close to me. I don’t believe there is any pride associated with how far you are from your family. We all need each other, lets face it lonlines stinks!
This is my brother and his family, we see each other 2-3 times a year and try to talk every week. My brother and I are 13 months apart. Since he was born when I was so young, I can’t remember a time when he was not part of my life. I feel very blessed to have these 4 people in my life, luv you guys!!
